Nestled among bamboo groves, waterlilies, and trees once thought extinct, Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ proved the perfect setting for Studio Tour Magazine’s very first Art Romp — and what a day it was!

Though our group was small, it created the perfect atmosphere for connection and discovery. New friendships formed, old ones rekindled, and together we explored the park’s stunning fusion of nature and art.

Our wonderful guide, Suzanne, led us through sculpture-lined paths and towering bamboo forests, sharing fascinating stories about the artists and their works. From a sculptural interpretation of Rousseau’s The Dream, to whimsical pop-up book installations and Seward Johnson’s stirring King Lear, every turn held a new surprise. Even the park’s famous peacocks made an appearance!

We wrapped up with a delicious visit to the Peacock Café, already buzzing about future Art Romps and the many hidden treasures still waiting to be discovered — like Déjeuner Déjà Vu, Were You Invited?, and a larger-than-life Marilyn Monroe.

Missed this one? Don’t worry — we’re just getting started. Stay tuned for details on our next Art Romp, and come experience art, nature, and community in unforgettable ways!
